Course: ASA 104 Intermediate Coastal Cruising
Date: May 4-8, 2008
Vessel: IP-32 ACADAME
Students: Ken Skelps, Dave Scallion, Chuck Reimer
Captain: Don Boccuti

May 4
We did orientation, provisioning, and a docking evaluation.  When we left Lankford Bay at 1330; wind was west at 10-15 knots.  We went through Kent Narrows at 1630 and arrived at St. Michael’s at 1830, powering all the way from the Narrows.  We tied up at Crab Claw and had dinner ashore.

May 5
Went over charts and navigation and plotted a course to Harris Creek.  The wind headed northwest at 8-12 knots.  Cleared Knapp Narrows at 1530, and anchored in Harris Creek at 1600.

May 6
At 0700 weighed anchor and looked for pump out on Choptank side of Narrows, but didn’t find any; pumped out at the Narrows.  The water was too low and dropping to take on fuel.  At 0910 we left the Narrows and arrived in Annapolis 1330.  Later we toured Spa Creek and Ego Alley.  Wind came and we sailed for two hours; got on mooring at 1630.

May 7
There were clear, light winds in the morning.  Topped off and pumped out at Annapolis Town dock.  Our original destination was Magathy River but we decided to head for Rock Hall.  The docks were not open at Watermans so we tied up at Rock Hall Landing at 1600.

May 8
Winds were 15 knots today from the west.  We had to spring off dock and left Waterman’s at 0800. Arrived at Lankford at 1200 to tie up in 20-25 knot winds.  The students took their tests and all passed.
