Rock Hall is a quiet, out-of-the-way little town on Chesapeake Bay with a working community of Eastern Shore Watermen dating back to the 19th century and a modern sailing community. It's a pleasant place to come for a respite from the pressures and fast pace of modern America and an ideal place for a sailing vacation. There is no public transportation to Rock Hall. You can get here either by driving or by water. 

From The North: 
From Interstate 95, take Rt. 279 to Elkton, MD. Go one mile & turn left on Rt. 213 South. Go 20 miles to Galena where 213 South turns right. Go about 12 miles to Chestertown; at a traffic light turn right onto Rt. 291; at dead end turn right onto Rt. 20 South to Rock Hall, about 12 miles. 

Turn left onto Crosby Rd, Route 288 just before entering Rock Hall. Route 288 will then turn left at a dead end with stop sign; then curves right followed by another left at a yellow house. About 1/4 mile further, bear left on McKinleyville Rd which curves several times over the next mile or so before entering Lankford Bay Marina. Our School building is on the left just as you enter the Marina.

A shorter but possibly bumpier ride is to turn left on Edesville Rd about 1/2 mile before reaching Route 288 as follows:

• From Rt 291 in Chestertown, turn Right onto Rt 20 and follow Rt 20 for 10.1 miles to Edesville Road on the left.  (Look for the green sign on the right that says "Edesville", and shortly after a sign for “Edesville Road”.)

• Go left on Edesville Road

• Go 2.6 miles to stop sign at T intersection.  This is Rt 288, but not marked at this point... Go left.

• Go 0.2 miles and go left (sign for Rt 288, yellow house on left)

• Go .3 miles and bear left onto Mckinleyville Road.  There is a sign on the left for Mckinleyville Road, and a small blue sign on the right for Lankford Bay Marina.

• Go 1.0 miles on a serpantine road which passes the RH Yacht Club on the right and proceed to the school building on the left.

From The South:
From Annapolis Bay Bridge take Rt. 301 North to Rt. 213 North; go through Centreville to Chestertown, about 20 miles.  At a traffic light turn left onto Rt. 291; at dead end turn right onto Rt. 20 South to Rock Hall, about 12 miles. Follow Route 288 as described above.

AIR TRANSPORTATION

Fly into Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI). Alternatives are Dulles International, Washington National and Philadelphia International. 

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

We recommend that you rent a car at the airport so that you will have local transportation during your stay in Rock Hall. There is also an Enterprise Car Rental agency in nearby Chestertown phone 1-800-736-8222 or 410-810-0971.  

SHUTTLE Service via Kent Island Express is are available between BWI or Washington National airports and Rock Hall and between Annapolis and Rock Hall; call 410-827-9522 for reservations and current prices which generally run about $100.00. They must be scheduled in advance as they do not operate as a taxi service.

BY WATER

Sail up Chester River to Langford Creek past Drum Point to Lankford Bay Marina at position 39º07' North, 76º10.5' West.
