  • Lee Tucker

    Lee began sailing on Chesapeake Bay more than 40 years ago, and has since completed over 90,000 blue water ocean miles in various sailing vessels in the Atlantic, Pacific and Caribbean. He holds an MD degree, a USCG 100 ton Inland Masters License and a 100 ton Near Coastal License with sail & commercial towing endorsements; and is an ASA Sailing Instructor certified to teach at all ASA Keelboat levels including celestial navigation and offshore passagemaking. Lee is an alumnus of the Maryland School's ocean training program, becoming ASA 108 certified in 1995. He  has since completed more than fifteen ocean passages with us as an Instructor and First Mate including Norfolk to Bermuda, Bahamas, Trinidad and Virgin Islands. He owns the Island Packet 440 KINJA with which he cruises and dives extensively in the Caribbean. Lee’s latest project is a gaff-rigged mahogany Penobscot Bay 14. His special interests include teaching coastal and celestial navigation, medical preparedness for sea, safety at sea, rescue and survival.
