  • Andy Prescott

    Andy Prescott holds a USCG Near Coastal Captains License and five levels of ASA instructor certifications. He has sailed for over thirty years in all types of boats  from the lakes of Maine to offshore trips across the Atlantic. He attributes his interest in teaching sailing to the offshore training cruise from Norfolk to Bermuda that he completed with The Maryland School in 1999. Andy thoroughly enjoys coaching beginning as well as advanced students and watching them develop their sailing skills and knowledge  as their confidence increases . Andy has taught our 101,103,104, 105 and 106 courses both on Chesapeake Bay and in the Virgin Islands, and has taught many of our Delmarva classes.

    Andy Prescott holds a USCG Near Coastal Captains License and five levels of ASA instructor certifications. He has sailed for over thirty years in all types of boats  from the lakes of Maine to offshore trips in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. He attributes his interest in teaching sailing to the offshore training cruise from Norfolk to Bermuda that he completed with The Maryland School in 1999. This experience motivated him to sell his architecture and engineering firm so that he might devote more time to sailing including instruction and offshore deliveries. Andy thoroughly enjoys coaching both beginning and advanced students and watching them develop their sailing skills and knowledge  as their confidence increases . Andy teaches at our basic and intermediate levels.
