~ A Cut Above ~

Frank McKee

A life-long sailor, Frank has sailed the Pacific, Atlantic and Caribbean waters. He holds a USCG 50 ton, near coastal rating and ASA Instructor certifications for 101, 103, 104, 105, 106 & 118. He has delivered boats along the US East Coast and operates executive leadership and team building on the high seas and seminars on the Chesapeake.

In his other life, Frank is a health educator for a company that develops prevention and wellness programs for underserved communities. He takes particular satisfaction introducing new sailors to the sport and watching them advance. Frank sails out of Baltimore Yacht Club aboard his Pearson 30, IMAGINE, and teaches at our basic sailing level.

"Learning from and meeting Captain Frank McKee has been a life changing experience. He is brilliant, interesting, wise and so much fun to be around! Captain McKee's adroitness in teaching and ability to explain and demonstrate the whys as well as the hows of sailing - with emphasis on anticipation and preparation goes beyond competency standards for both sailing knowledge and on-the-water skills. He achieves the perfect balance between transferring his adept sailing skills and engaging all students in a truly cooperative effort to share in a unique camaraderie. This is only the beginning of my sailing adventures, and I couldn't have had a better Instructor."

 ~ Kimbery Drapeau; 2011 ASA 101 Graduate
