~ A Cut Above ~

Fred Lipp

Fred holds a USCG Near Coastal Captains license and ASA Instructor certification, and teaches at our basic sailing level. Fred started sailing in the 70’s on the Great Lakes and the east coast. Then in the late 70’s sailed a 36’ Columbia sloop from Antigua to St. Thomas. Fred and his brother had built a 57 ft. ketch, which they sailed from the Great Lakes to Key West and the Bahamas in 1980, sailing from Lake Erie, through the Erie Barge Canal, down the Hudson River, the Intracoastal Waterway, and in the Atlantic coastal waters on the way south. In addition, Fred has made several yacht deliveries from the Great Lakes to South Florida.
