~ A Cut Above ~

We received this letter from Jim Story who sailed on our DELMARVA Circumnavigation cruise in September 2003:

Dear Tom,

I want you to know how much I enjoyed the recent ASA #106 Delmarva Peninsula Circumnavigation. It was a great experience, and I believe I can say that for all the other students who participated. The boat and equipment were in top condition. The School support, specifically Denise Tontarski, made everything come off without a hitch. Her efforts were much appreciated by all on board.

Andy Prescott was the key to the success of our trip and instruction. His professional approach to his job insured we mastered all course material. More importantly, his personal example set the tone. While we learned much technical and course requirements, Andy's performance as Captain taught the lesson of never taking anything for granted. His checking and rechecking of things, which I am sure, he has done many times, demonstrated how important details are to a safe and successful cruise. This is the lesson that will be most remembered.

I plan to put to work what I have learned so far taking ASA#101 through #106 at your school. I will continue sailing and chartering to hone my skills and I plan to do #107 and #108 in the future.

Sincerely yours,
James E. Story
