~ A Cut Above ~

We received these comments in an email from Charles Davis who took an ASA101 class with us in August 2008

~

Hey Rita,

Man what a class!  That was awesome.  I can't wait for the 103 and 104.  My wife wants to take the 101 next year. I will probably take it again so I can be with her.

I really enjoyed the class.  Learning on the AcaDame was a great experience.  She is a lovely yacht.  The classroom was clean, quite and comfortable.  Lankford Bay Marina is one of the cleanest I have seen.  The docks were free of debris and spot paint from the seagulls.  The pool was immaculate as were the laundry, restroom and showering facilities.  The huge pavilion located right on the shoreline offered the most spectacular view I have ever seen while taking a test.  The entire staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

David Appleton was our ASA101 instructor.  He put us behind the helm the very first time we boarded AcaDame.  David never touched the helm, neither halyard nor sheet the entire 4 days.  We were literally a team before we knew it.  His ability to communicate and calmly articulate commands put our class in a skipper and crew scenario in a mere minute.  In my opinion this speaks volumes for David's experience as a Captain and his ability to teach.

Best Regards,
Charles Davis
