We received the
following letter from Ray Bowles who recently completed our ASA101 Basic Sailing
Course as well as Coastal Navigation and Celestial Navigation Classes:
During a time
that everyone relishes over the negative, I wanted to write a note of thanks to
the Maryland School of Sailing and Seamanship. Having Dan VanWinkle and
Gregg Scheiferstein as our mentors/instructors was truly a positive experience.
They opened up their personalities and shared their sailing knowledge in a
way that I could not wait until the next day to learn. A sign of a great teacher
is the patience that is shown and the training aids that are utilized. Both
instructors complimented each other and displayed professionalism and I look
forward to the upcoming courses with your school. Tom, besides the
professionalism displayed, the text books you have written are thorough and easy
to understand. I have enjoyed my learning experiences and
relationships with everyone associated with the Maryland School of Sailing and
Seamanship. Again Thanks.
