Tom Hamilton

Tom Hamilton as seen off the Atlantic coast of Portugal helping a friend deliver his new Discovery 55 from Southampton UK to Malaga Spain. Tom received a PhD in endocrinology from the University of Wales, UK and has worked in cancer research for more than 30 years. Sailing, Tom's passion for many years, has become his new vocation.  He is now a USCG licensed Captain for inland waters and near coastal Mate and an ASA certified instructor. He has been most actively sailing again since 1996, and is the managing owner of a Lancer 36 based in Worton Creek on Chesapeake Bay and owner of a San Juan 23 which he sails on Lake Nockamixon in Bucks County, PA. He has logged some 25,000 offshore miles in European, the Near East, and North American offshore waters. He is married with two adult daughters. At present, Tom teaches in our basic level ASA courses.
